CPRS Conference 2023

Principals Dawn Merkes and Andrea Gifford represented Group 4 at the recent California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS) Conference in San Diego to accept an Award of Excellence for the Burlingame Community Center and to host a session, “Play and Words – Taking the Stage for High Performance Recreation & Library Partnerships”. The session included collaborators from recent and ongoing Group 4 community + recreation projects to explore different models of partnerships between recreation, library, and other community services in a shared facility. An interactive game challenged session participants to identify the opportunities for co-locating services in a joint-use facility.

San Mateo County GreenBuild Awards

Group 4’s new Zero-Net-Energy Burlingame Community Center recently received recognition from the joint Sustainable San Mateo County and AIA San Mateo County panel comprising SMC Greenbuild for excellence in facility design. Group 4 Principals Dawn Merkes and Jonathan Hartman attended the award ceremony with representatives from Burlingame Parks and Recreation and City Council to accept the award.
