A Successful Launch for Lexington’s Latest Library

Featured

The opening of the new 30,000-square-foot Marksbury Family Branch of the Lexington Public Library in March 2024 marked a significant milestone for the Cardinal Valley neighborhood. Built on the footprint of the original Village Branch, the new library was shaped by extensive community engagement to address the unique needs of Lexington’s diverse population. It features flexible, technology-enabled spaces that support innovative, community-centric programming. The branch provides essential services such as homework help, language classes, and social services, alongside new amenities like intergenerational learning spaces and creative makerspaces. This vibrant, welcoming environment is already forming to be a cornerstone for civic engagement and community gatherings, and we can’t wait to see the more dynamic and unique programming in these new spaces…as seen in some of the buzz online below from the Library and the community!
