We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of the renovated Cincinnati-Hamilton County Public Library’s downtown Main Library, a transformative project designed by Group 4. This flagship destination reflects priorities that formed the basis for the master planning process, including diversity, inclusion, transparency, a customer focused service model, and operational sustainability. The comprehensive re-imagining is anchored by exterior enhancements to two new civic plazas which welcome visitors and connects the library to Downtown. Inside the library, a breathtaking, revitalized atrium centered around a social stair sparks exploration of upper floors as well as informal gatherings. Brought to life by an expansive skylight, the atrium offers an abundance of natural light and new seating areas for individuals, groups, and events.
During the opening weekend, come visit and enjoy a variety of activities! Highlights include guided tours, storytimes with local mascots, live music, food trucks, and chalk art on Friday. Saturday offers a Nintendo Super Smash Tournament, science experiments, pickleball, and dance workshops. On Sunday, look forward to live jazz, rollerskating performances, and panels on women in film. Each day features unique events and entertainment for all ages. For a detailed schedule of events, visit the library’s event page.
