Cuyahoga County Public Library Facilities Master Plan
Cuyahoga County, OH
Cuyahoga County Public Library seeks to empower individuals and communities by providing opportunities for all to read, learn, create, and connect. Building on these values and the goals laid out in a 2021 Strategic Plan, Group 4 has collaborated with Library leadership to produce an equitable, inclusive 10-year Facilities Master Plan for the system’s 27 branches and administration building.
The scope of work includes detailed technical assessments of all 28 buildings to understand current and future maintenance needs. Group 4 also assessed each facility for alignment with the Library’s Strategic Plan and other service-related opportunities. This holistic planning process incorporated community engagement through surveys, workshops with Library staff, and a working session with the Library’s Board of Trustees.
The final Facilities Master Plan serves as a roadmap for CCPL, and proposes detailed branch recommendations for maintenance, renovation, expansion and new construction projects. The Library leveraged G4’s integrated library planning and design practice to develop 4 site-specific feasibility studies during this process, which in turn informed the overall planning approach.
